Concert Hall Steps To Go

The Buchanan Galleries Shopping Centre in the heart of Glasgow is about to undergo a £100million refurbishment programme, doubling its size and when finished, it will be the largest shopping centre in Scotland.

Unfortunately, plans have been drawn up that will see the removal of the very popular stairs leading to the Glasgow Concert Hall. These stairs are a great place to sit in the summer, where office workers can sit and enjoy the buskers and passers by. Impromptu performances have been given on these very steps, delighting the shoppers and adding that extra bit of magic to Glasgow's city centre.

I've yet to see the plans, but let's hope the designers create another favourite icon when the new entrance is built to the Glasgow Concert Hall - a place where people can meet and sit, enjoying all that's grand about our fantastic city.
